Hiking

One of my favorite things about living in Southern California is the proximity to so many amazing state and national parks. Even the Angeles National Forest, which is right in our own backyard here in Los Angeles, offers wonderful quick getaway opportunities to get into nature.

I'm mostly a solo hiker. Part of the reason for that is my speed - I move at a glacial pace! I'm always the one moving to the side on trails to let others pass. How is everyone else always going so fast!? I don't mind though. I find the 1:1 time with nature to be a great way to reconnect with this amazing planet we have the privilege to call home.

Favorite hike I've ever done? Definitely the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Most challenging? Without doubt the 6 day thru-hike I completed (barely!) on Reunion Island. Ultimate bucket list hike? The Pacific Crest Trail isn't too far from my front door. Perhaps one day...
